New Boathouse Progress Report

As of today we have planning permission granted, the holes have been dug for the foundations and in the last few days have been filled with concrete and the foundation bolts are in place. The steel should arrive on Thursday and be up by the end of the month. 
Teams of 3 are now being confirmed by each club to start laying the floor, cladding the sides and continue the good work that has been started.

£50,000 Awarded to TVSC and DERC

Devil’s Elbow Rowing Club in partnership with Trent Valley Sailing Club have been awarded a grant of £50,000 by the Places People Play a Sport England initiative. The money is to be used to improve boat storage facilities at the club.

Devil’s Elbow Rowing Club are a new Rowing Club to Erewash and offer a variety of rowing experiences from recreational to competition and fun regattas open to all ages.

TVSC Summer Ball 2012

 TVSC invited the rowers to join in their Summer Ball. Extreme windy weather made setting up the marquees a challenge and keeping them from flying away a huge problem. The Saturday was spent rowing int he morning and then Jooles spent the afternoon helping the sailing club ladies set up the napkins and laid the tables, balloons and decorations. First Grant Money Awarded to DERC

DERC have been awarded their first successful grant application for £1000 from Sports Action Grant, Derbyshire County Council. This was applied for to fund the building of the boat racking required at Trent Valley Sailing Club and essential safety equipment such as life jackets. buoyancy aids, throw lines and first aid bags etc. This is to enable the club to run its first Learn to Row course in the Spring.
