Successful Work Party

Another successful weekend at the boathouse was undertaken. Trees were cleared, making the backwater look wider. Reeds and weeds were removed and the landing stage has started to be rebuilt using wood donated by Richard Morley of Redhill Marina.

The next working party will be held on Sunday 31st July all day. 
- Lay floor in boathouse
- Weeds and reeds removal
- Tree clearance
- Landing stage building.
- Fundraising and awareness

History uncovered about the boathouse

Some history of the boathouse has been uncovered by the Sutton Bonington Campus of Nottingham University. The documents from the Agrimag have been kindly scanned in and reproduced on the History page in pdf format.

Fallen tree removed by tractor

The huge fallen willow tree has now been removed from the river by the Land Manager Paul and his tractor. See video. This is the first major obstacle we faced and have achieved. Many Thanks to all involved.

Work Starts

The large fallen willow tree across the backwater preventing navigation is almost cleared thanks to friends and family lending their time and tools. Great fun was had by all and much progress made towards having a clear route through to the main river.
